What Inspire Nutritions is about?

ABOUT OUR FOUNDER
Hello, I’m Ilham Malick.
A registered dietitian from the US and founder of Inspire Nutritions. I have a double Master’s degree in Dietetics from the University of Vermont, USA, and also a Gold Medalist in Master of Science in Dietetics, India.
I also have an Ijazah (Islamic Certification) in Hadith Studies, and her expertise lies in combining Islamic Nutrition with modern Nutrition and presenting it to a Muslim audience. She is a well-recognised public speaker in this field and has given numerous talks since 2017.
My Story
We plan, and Allah plans, and Allah is the best of planners. I have come a long way from being a clinical dietitian in India to stepping into the world of educating the Muslim world on the importance of healthy eating, and I would like to share why I am so passionate about it with you!
Growing up, I excelled in my academic achievements and won numerous awards and certificates throughout my school, including the prestigious All India Gold medal for securing the highest marks in my Masters of Dietetics.
I was working as an internationally certified Diabetes Educator and Clinical Dietitian in the Endocrine department of a reputed hospital when I got married and moved to the US in 2011.

I always dreamed of becoming a registered dietitian (RD), but the road was long and difficult. Meanwhile, I got my certification in health coaching and started working as a Health coach.
I was blessed with my two beautiful little girls and as a mother of energetic yet picky eaters (aren’t they all!) I tried to plan their snacks and meals to ensure they were balanced. From creating wholegrain pancake and dessert recipes sweetened with fruits and dates, and sneaking in veggies in new and creative ways, I made sure they ate delicious, healthy food.
I realised the importance of holistic nutrition, which is eating healthy for overall and preventive health, which is different from clinical nutrition, where more emphasis is placed on medical nutrition management after a person is diagnosed with an illness.
I was fascinated by how our Prophet captured years of research in nutrition and health in a few simple Hadith. When I read about Nabeedh, I was surprised how many Muslims didn’t know or follow such a beautiful Sunnah, which benefits not only our spiritual but also physical health! This led to me diving deeper into the verses of the Quran about food. I enrolled and graduated in Ijazah from Hadith (Islamic certification in Hadith), where I learned more about the connection between food, Imaan, and health in Islam.
The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said,
“None of you will have faith till he wishes for his (Muslim) brother what he likes for himself.”
Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari 13
I started giving talks in masjids in 2017, sharing the importance of following a healthy diet in light of Sunnah and the connection between Modern Nutrition and Islam. Alhamdulillah, I found that people loved learning about this missing link.
We know we need to eat halal and tayyib, but people often don’t know how to bridge the gap between eating healthy as a Muslim and eating healthy for disease prevention, and I wanted to teach people that they are essentially the same!
There is no delay in Allah’s plan, only Khair. So, if you have landed on my website now, know that this is the right moment for you, to start your journey to health. Insha Allah, I pray to hear from you soon.
Until then, Eat Healthy, Learn More, and Live Better.
Love, Ilham.
